Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is an essential member of the Corridor Ketamine healthcare team. This role involves collaborating with the onsite healthcare provider to perform clinical duties while maintaining a strong focus on customer and patient care. The RN is expected to demonstrate effective communication, professionalism, self-development, and teamwork. Additionally, the RN should demonstrate excellent clinical skills, problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and effective leadership capabilities. Decision-making should align with Corridor Ketamine’s policies, protocols, and guidelines, as well as the Iowa Board of Nursing's regulations. The RN will also support colleagues with non-clinical tasks related to the daily operations of the medical office. This includes responsibilities such as patient scheduling, financial and payment collections, managing medical intake forms and requirements, and other related duties.
Requirements
The following are the primary responsibilities for this position. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with the onsite healthcare provider and other members of the Corridor Ketamine direct patient care team, including CRNA, ARNP, RN, LPN, and MA.
- Rooming patients, monitoring and documenting patients’ vital signs, symptoms, and changes in their condition, preparing and administering medications, starting IVs, monitoring patients throughout their treatment, and performing room turnover.
- Collecting, documenting, and integrating patient information concerning past, current, and future treatments.
- Maintaining patient rights and confidentiality while serving as an advocate for patients.
- Administering IV and intranasal medications and treatments according to established protocols.
- Providing education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and disease prevention.
- Assisting with patient scheduling, registration, financial counseling, medical records, data entry and processing, and collecting payments as needed (training will be provided).
- Promoting excellent customer service at all levels of the staff.
- Helping to implement and maintain office policies, protocols, and guidelines.
- Ensuring patient satisfaction, including troubleshooting complaints and working with the onsite healthcare provider to develop process improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Participating in staff meetings with management and the clinical team.
- Completing all mandatory annual education and training within the defined time frame.
